Surgical Management of Tooth Loss and Bone Preservation Utilizing Dental Implants and Osseous Regenerative Techniques
Loss of the alveolar bone after tooth loss can have long-term negative consequences for the oral health of the patient. Use of only conventional restorative techniques coupled with increase in life expectancy can lead to situations in which conventional dentures and other restorations can no longer be utilized by the patient. Modern techniques of implants and osseous regeneration can prevent bone loss and allow for long-term use of dentures and other restorative implements.

Learning Objective :
  1. Rationale for the placement of implants for implant retained restorations and dentures
  2. Rationale for socket preservation and ridge augmentation for bone maintenance and loss prevention
  3. Long-term benefits of dental implants for bone preservation
